As part of our growing global strategy, we’re proud to announce that we’ve begun formal preparations for the Mandarin Chinese translation and distribution of select properties across our publishing portfolio.

This marks a major step in expanding our international presence, especially in one of the world’s most linguistically and culturally influential markets.

Why Mandarin?

With over 1.1 billion native speakers, Mandarin isn’t just the most spoken language in the world—it’s a gateway to entire ecosystems of readers, learners, and digital audiences.

Our current media properties—especially those focused on history, cultural facts, and intellectual storytelling—have already shown strong organic reach in Asia. Formal translation and localization will allow us to:

  • Engage more meaningfully with Chinese-speaking audiences

  • Expand our IP reach into new education and entertainment markets

  • Create content pipelines for localized digital distribution across platforms like WeChat, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin

What’s Being Translated

We’re starting with three core verticals:

  1. Historical Narratives:
    Longform, documentary-style content on global events, now being adapted for cultural clarity and context in Mandarin.

  2. Fact-Driven Microcontent:
    High-performing trivia and knowledge-based assets optimized for short-form, mobile-first delivery.

  3. Meme-Based Cultural Pages:
    Our most viral, shareable content from social platforms, localized with culturally relevant humor and phrasing.

Every translation goes beyond word-for-word conversion—it’s a process of intentional cultural adaptation, ensuring the tone, format, and emotional beats land with the same impact in Mandarin as they do in English.

Behind the Scenes

We’ve partnered with native Mandarin linguists, cultural consultants, and editors with deep experience in educational publishing, internet culture, and cross-border brand tone.

We’re also building an internal bilingual content pipeline to handle ongoing translation, editorial QA, and asset management across multiple media formats (text, audio, video, meme).

Distribution is being planned in phases, starting with pilot content launches followed by analytics-informed scaling. Key channels under evaluation include:
